I stumbled upon Country Save Laundry Detergent when I began cloth diapering in an attempt to be more environmentally friendly. I should mention that I have two kids and a husband who is a maintenance technician at a factory so we have tons of dirty, sometimes really dirty laundry.
I like that it has no scent so it doesn’t irritate anyone’s sensitive skin and it smells more fresh to me that way. It suds well and cleans better than most conventional, chemical laden soaps I’ve used before.
I am impressed that clothing, when hung on a line to dry, does not come out stiff. I think that was one of my bigger selling points, that and it has no fragrance or extras that causes liquids to repel. This is huge for cloth diapers.
I bought one 10 pound box, and use it in my top loader. We’re on the same box about two months later so I’d say it’s a good buy.

I LOVE this detergent! It works GREAT for cloth diapers and children with sensitive skin. It cleans super well, and leaves no residue. I have a front load washer, and it works perfectly with it – as well as saving me lots of money. I am so glad I purchased this product, and I will continue to do so in the future.
I love this soap. You need very little soap to wash a load of laundry.
Half a scoop. I think this soap works better than the liquid he soap. I also think it provides no food/growth medium for mold that for some people is a huge problem in front loader machines. I have read that in liquid soap corn starch is a major part of the soap. You are providing the mold food to grow on, in a dark damp place in, your new front loading machine. I have no such problem with this soap.
Most of the reviews I read raved about baby clothes and diapers. I’m beyond that stage and searched for about a year for all the reviews I could find on Country Save and any other HE Environmentally Friendly detergent.
Finally, I settled on having a go with CS. I figured anything that was as good as it’s website seemed to prove and could tackle diapers, etc with such rave reviews could certainly handle my laundry.
I was right! This detergent is AWEsome! The clothes are SO clean, and dry to nice soft, clean lightness (minus residue). The detergent is so effective that I only add CS non-chlorine bleach to the towels and underwear, or for treating particularly soiled loads.
Also, I was only semi-impressed the first week and then realized that I may need to adjust the measurements for my water & machine. Turns out I only need 1 1/2 TBLS per regular load, instead of the recommended 2 TBLS. So I’ll be getting more loads per box. (Although the 160 per box is great!).
It’s the best laundry detergent I’ve ever used!
