After seeing that this was the cheaper of the few, I was kinda skeptical about the quality. Well after installing the shaver foil and going to town, I believe that it is actually BETTER than the one that came with the unit. Awesome!

Like everyone else says, works better than the stock blade it comes with. I reluctantly ordered this blade because it says BG2000, and mine is a BG2020, but the box it comes in says it’s compatible with models ranging from BG2020 to 2029, so aside from the weird naming scheme, this thing is great.

I have been using the shaver now for a while and i noticed one thing right off the bat. The shaving head foil is very weak and you shold be very careful with it or it can get pushed into the shaver. that doesnt bother me to much cause i use it with a gaurd on it anyway. i thought i was needing an new head so i got one and reliezed that really all i needed was to charge the shaver after every use…i needed one anyway cause the foil was pushed inside it

This replacement shave head for the Phlilps/Norelco Bodygroom shaver is far superior to the one that came with the razor. The original had a rather flimsy foil that warped out of shape with normal use, refused to stay in place on the head and kept popping loose at either end.

The new replacement head is better made: the shave foil itself is of a superior weight and thickness and stays in place within the head. It also has a better array in the shaving ‘grid’ to do a more thorough - and comfortable job of hair removal.
My only complaint is that the entire head unit doesn’t stay on the razor as well as the original did - seems to be a looser fit. It is quite easy to dislodge the head while shaving, or while removing one of the comb attachments.
I still would recommend this product. It’s the best I’ve found for the job, which it does well.

The product was exactly what I needed for my razor. I used to order that part on-line directly from the remington store but they discontinued it. So, when I found it at amazon I was so excited. My razor still works great so I dont see any need to purchase a new one. I will continue to order this part from Amazon until my razor breaks!

I love my remington shaver, but I couldn’t find any cutters in my local stores for it. I was so pleased to find them at Amazon and the price was less than what the other cutters in stores charge.

I’d been getting unhappy with my razor’s performance, and then realized that I had *never* replaced the cutters in the 3 years I’d had it. Now it’s back to doing the great job it used to do! An important bit of maintenance to remember if you have an electric razor–check the instructions to see how often you should replace these parts.

This item works great and I had no problems with it fitting my current shaver. I’m glad I found this item so I would not have to replace my entire shaver.

There you are, shaving for that special evening out when you realize your face isn’t getting any smoother. No matter how many passes you make with your Norelco Reflex Plus shaver, you just can’t seem to get that clean, close shave you remember from when it was new (when was that? June, 2003? 2002!?).

It’s too late now. No time to throw on a T-shirt, tear out of the garage to the nearest T**get, W*l-M**t or R*te-A*d and hope and pray they have a pack of Norelco HQ55+ heads in stock.

Look, Amazon.com is going to pay for Super Saver shipping anyway, so there goes one excuse. Norelco knows some guys keep a backup set of heads in the bathroom, so they seal the package against humidity. Even if your shaver is brand new, why not order the new heads right now? When they arrive, jot the replacement date on the back of the package with an indelible marker and toss it into the bathroom drawer, next to the replacement heads for your electric toothbrush.

The razor is excellent and the replacement heads and cutters do just as well as the original. Head and cutter replacement is very simple. Price, through Amazon, was outstanding, and less than other razors I observed. The order was filled in minimal time.

These new heads made my old razor cut like a new one. This is about 4 times that I have replaced the heads. It is a lot cheaper that buying a new razor.

(1) I’ve owned a Braun Syncro for about a year and a half now. It’s the closest shave I’ve ever had without cutting myself, and that includes the new triple blades. But those refills are pricey. Another Amazon review gave me a clue as to how to make each cartridge last six months. Here’s how: Clean your razor once a week instead of every day. Between cleans, remove the cartridge from the cleaning machine and reseal the cartridge with the original plastic tab. No more evaporation problem. I’ve been very happy with the results.

(2) These refills do exactly what they are supposed to do, as you can read in the product description.
I have found no noticeable difference by cleaning my shaver every other use instead of every time. I have owned it for almost a year now. This is a good way to get twice the life out of the refills. They also seem to last longer than the 30 uses stated.

Also, these things are very easy to spill when installing. Be careful!

Finally, I’d recommend stocking up on them if you like the shaver because with products like these, you never know when the manufacturer will stop production thus rendering the shaver obsolete.

(3) It’s still just expensive, scented and lubricated alcohol. But there’s no other good alternative to get a good daily clean on your razor. It’s worth it to have it cleaned. Being subscribed to it is the cheapest way to get it with free shipping.

They are super sharp and cut my face nice and clean. sure beats buying a new razor especially because they cost so much. I never could remember to purchase new blades when I was at a store. This product contains three replacement heads for the Norelco 9160XL electric razor. After 1 1/2 years of continuous daily usage the original cutting heads were no longer giving a good shave. I decided to replace the original blades with this set.

The good:

1.)Easy to following instruction for replacement on the package, and the actual replacement process was incredibly simple and easy to do.

2.)The new blades functioned perfectly; because the decline in performance of the original blades was so gradual, it was difficult to believe how much of an improvement these replacement blades provided.

The not so good:

Only one complaint; the packaging. The replacement blade were embodied in a package that made it extremely difficult to actually get at the blades. There were a series of 6 grommet eyelets surrounding the entire package making it very secure. I literally had to force scissors between the layers of cardboard to get around the grommets to eventually get to the blades inside. In a word…frustrating. Plus, a slight slip and a bad cut may have occurred (I think everyone has experienced trying to open one of these newer hard-plastic wrapped items and knows just how difficult it can really be to get at the product inside).

Conclusion:
An excellent set of replacement blades. (I just hope they’ll last longer than the 3 months it took for the original blades to start to lose their sharpness). Time will tell; but up to now, so far so good.
However, getting the blades out of this package could be considered a potential hazard.
5 Stars for the product itself, with 1 or 2 Stars off for the needless obstructive packaging.

Addendum Feb 24/08:
Interesting to note that they’ve changed the packaging on this product (since my original review) making it appear that it’s less hazardous to access. However, as I haven’t purchase this specific product package, I can’t comment on the ease of access (or safety) of the new packaging.

(1) The manufacturer recommends replacing the foil screen and cutter block every 18 months for maximum performance. I wholeheartedly agree. This cutting system seems to last a little longer than older models but it certainly doesn’t last forever. While it might not be exactly at 18 months, you can readily tell that the blades are getting dull when it takes longer to shave and/or you begin experiencing skin irritation. The set is pretty expensive but Amazon.com seems to have a very competitive price (a lot cheaper than I’ve seen in any brick & mortar store). Having said that, it really is like getting a brand new razor each time you make the change so it’s very worthwhile doing it. Not sure if you can even buy them separately, but changing both parts at the same time ensures a closer shave with less skin irritation because they work together as an integrated system.

(2) What else can I tell you? Remember how great a shave you got when you bought it? Get a new foil+cutterblock and you can get it back! The manufacturer says to replace them after 18 months but I found 12-14 months to be more accurate - and I don’t shave weekends either!!!

(3) I am glad that Amazon offers convenient access to replacement parts for the Braun 8000-series electric razors. This razor is truly amazing and really does give an amazingly close shave, but once in awhile it is necessary to replace the cutterblock and cleaning solution, and it is great to know that I can order them on Amazon.

Having sensitive skin -i swore never to use an epilator again (after i tried a friends no name epilator.ouch!)
but…i hated shaving my legs every day- and my skin agreed in another option. waxing my legs left them looking like ground beef for 1-2 days, so i was considering epilation again.

I read about the silk epil easy start set and gave it a shot.
Its great to have the optional attachment to start your first epilation with less tweezers. it was far less painful than waxing and after the first strokes i changed to the regular-tweezer attachment (which plugs more hair per stroke).
the only thing i feel is a very, very slight discomfort.
Afterwards I put some aloe on my legs and i am ready to go.
(there are tiny red spots- but they only last for 2 hours. then they are gone completely!)
My legs are shiny and my skin look its best.
To make sure the hair is not growing in- i exfoliate twice a week with a loofa.
The epilation lasts in my case for 2 weeks and the new hair is very soft.
Im fine with epilating twice a month and would never go back to shaving

If u consider epilation-try this product.

This is a hard block of wax that you will have to melt in your own container. I don’t think you can put this in a microwave. I use the double boiler method with 2 small old saucepans. Can’t use direct heat.That being said, this wax removes hair so much better than the soft waxes I have tried. It goes on thicker and removes all of the hair. It will hurt the first time you use it IF you have alot of hair to remove. Once you have used it a few times, your skin will adjust and it’s great. If you use it 2-3 times per month, its almost painless as there isn’t much hair to remove. You can also reuse the wax. Just throw it back in the pot. I use it for facial hair only so I buy a new block about every 2-3 years. This product may be a little inconvenient to melt but it works great, hair doesn’t grow back as fast and it’s cheap.

I’ve been using this product for years since I have little time to go to a salon for waxing, and this is so much less expensive. It is true that you have to provide your own container for melting the wax, but I have always just used a cheap pie tin placed over an old pot in which the water boils. It is a ritual that is so easy, and I like the fact that because it is a hard wax, you don’t have to use papers…or get messy sticky strings of honey-like wax all over the place. I have recently not been able to find this product in the stores in my neighborhood, so am glad it is available on line. I highly reccommend it.

Its such a shame they took this product off the shelf at CVS. I LOVE it! It works WAY better than the other garbage out there, like Nads, or Nair, or the Sally Hensen products. With those you will find that you have to wax the same area more than once to get rid of all the hair. As we all know, it hurts so why do it more than once? ZIP does it all in one pass and you dont need cloth strips to use it either. Try it and you will love it!
